MARK TWAIN SCHOOL - PRE-REGISTRATION FOR PRESCHOOL AND KINDERGARTEN

To Enroll A Student in Mark Twain School

1. The family must currently live and continue to live in our attendance area
2. Child must be enrolled by a parent or guardian

Documents Needed For Pre-registration

1. Child’s birth certificate
2. Child’s social security number
3. Parent/Guardian must present 2 pieces of legal identification with their current
   address (i.e. driver’s license or state ID, current utility bill, bank statement,
   car/homeowners insurance, paycheck stub or Public Aid card)

AGE REQUIREMENTS

To Enroll in Pre-School at Mark Twain:

• Child must be 4 years old on or before September 1, 2012 (Born before September 2, 2008)
• Preschool Program is half day, students attend either the morning or afternoon session (times to be determined)

To Enroll in Kindergarten at Mark Twain:

• Child must be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2012 (Born before September 2, 2007)
• Kindergarten Program is a little longer than half day(time to be determined)

        All  students are required to wear the official school uniform

School Hours and entry doors

*Preschool
All students enter through Door #3
Morning Class 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 p.m.
Afternoon Class 12:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
*(Preschool parents may take their child to the classroom in the mornings at 9:00)

Grades K-8
Students may enter through Door #3 or Door #7
Doors open at 8:45 a.m. and close at 9:05 a.m.
Students wishing to eat breakfast should arrive at 8:45
All other students should be in the building before 9:05
A free breakfast is available each day to all interested students

          Kindergarten dismissal time is 1:30    Grades 1-8 dismissal time is 2:45

After 9:05 a.m. all doors are locked so tardy students must enter the building
through the main door on Lotus – Door #1 and  stop in the office for a tardy slip before reporting to their classroom.  For school safety, all visitors must stop in
the office for a pass before proceeding to any area of the school at any time.

School uniform must be worn daily/Gym uniform worn on scheduled days listed below:

School supplies and assignment book are needed on the 1st day of school.
Uniforms may be purchased each day in Room 163: 8:30-9:00 and 1:30-2:30
Parents are asked to call the school if their child is going to be absent or tardy
